Our mission

Impressions of Jogja focuses on everything in and around Yogyakarta, Indonesia, more affectionately known as Jogja. Our mission is to present an English language portrait of the city, allowing a greater view into its history and culture, which is presently not possible for those who are unable to speak Bahasa Indonesia or Javanese.

Jogja can be so overwhelming to newcomers, but with us, you will see a side of the city that isn't captured by the lens of a tourism website. We will not tell you to visit popular and expensive restaurants and museums just because they are what tourists like to see, but help guide your journey in Jogja. You will see Jogja from a new perspective, and come to understand just why it is such a special city, and why Indonesia so fascinated the ancient explorers who reached its shores centuries ago.
